What is Infra-Red Temperature Measurement?
Thermal Detection is partnered with Optris Infra Red. Please see our webpage on Optris products
Non-contact temperature measurement utilises the radiation emitted by a body in the infra-red spectrum.
Infra red pyrometers use thermopile (an arrangement of multiple thermocouple hot junctions connected in series) to give the temperature of a spot of known size / distance. They can be used to monitor temperature on production lines or fast moving processes, across a wide temperature range.
Infra red thermal imaging cameras display an image of the view area and can provide data on temperature profiles as well as automatically detect cold and hot spots in order to generate alarms.
